We recently returned from SLEEP 2026, the 40th Annual Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, in Baltimore, MD.
This conference brought together over 6,000 clinicians, researchers, and sleep health professionals from across the globe. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with collaborators in person, engage in meaningful discussions, and learn from a diverse range of sessions that highlighted current directions in the field.
We were especially proud to have 5 research projects competitively accepted into the conference for poster presentations, focused on digital health, sleep health equity, trauma, and culturally adapted interventions:
- Cultural Adaptation of a Dyadic Digital Health Treatment to Improve Positive Airway Pressure Adherence and Sleep Health Among Hispanic Couples, presented by Dr. Carmela Alcántara
- Implementation Determinants of Uptake of a Digital Therapeutic for Insomnia for Hispanics: A Qualitative Analysis of Key Stakeholder Perspectives, presented by Dr. Carmela Alcántara
- Sleep and Self-Regulation Resources in Latine Adults: An Exploration of Effect Modification by Trauma, presented by Georgia Berry
- Social Determinants of Acceptability of Digital Therapeutics for Insomnia among Hispanic Adults: Patient and Provider Perspectives, presented by Serena Habib
- The Association between Prolonged Grief and Sleep among Latine Adults, presented by Laura Galeano
Thank you to the APSS organizers, our coauthors and collaborators, and everyone who stopped by our posters to discuss our findings. We look forward to bringing these learnings back to the lab and advancing our research in the coming year!
