Laura is pursuing a Master of Science in Social Work at the Columbia School of Social Work. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clark University. Prior to beginning her MSW, she worked as a Senior Budget Analyst at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget. As part of her training, Laura has completed a practicum placement with the Nurse-Family Partnership at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and is currently completing her practicum at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. Her involvement in the Sleep Mind Health Research Program is driven by her interest in understanding how social determinants of health impact marginalized populations, particularly immigrant communities. Laura is especially passionate about perinatal mental health and the implementation of evidence-based psychological interventions that improve access and outcomes for underserved communities.
