Dr. Alcántara, Luciana Giorgio, and Hannah Binder presented at the annual conference of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America in Washington D.C. from April 5th to April 8th. Dr. Alcántara presented best practices in cultivating cultural humility and awareness in clinical and mentoring relationships as part of a panel on Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening, Luciana and Hannah Binder presented scientific posters exploring different phenomena among Latino/a adults. Luciana Giorgio focused on understanding the association between acculturation stress, social support, social burden, and insomnia among Latino/as while Hannah explored the association of Shift work with substance use among this population. Both posters analyzed data from the Latino Sleep and Health Study, which continues to recruit participants in New York City.
